There was a great deal of excitement and anticipation as Class 160 entered its final days at Ipswich Grammar School.

Our Old Boys were on hand at the Old Boys Breakfast to present each boy with their Old Boy badge and welcome them into the Old Boy fraternity. That night the boys attended their Valedictory Dinner and were presented with their Old Boy ties, and they requested help from a significant person in their lives to put them on for the first time. This tradition was especially memorable for the Old Boys who were able to tie them for their sons who are joining them as IGS Old Boys.

These traditions represent more than just a presentation of a badge and tie. They signify the bond that is an IGS Old Boy and lets our graduating seniors know that they are all mates, “Mates for Life.”
