The state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) building project will soon become a reality with final stages of the planning and development process being addressed. The school is hoping that students will be using the new facilities by the middle of 2020.
The project will be the first new building in the secondary school since 1985 and will result in not only a modern learning facility but will also open views to the Great Hall. The new building will be located adjacent to the rear of the original building on Woodend Road and will require the demolition of the Murray Hancock wing, Box Room, former dormitory and boarders dining hall.
The three storey building is a $10 million dollar investment into the future of Ipswich Grammar School and will be instrumental in the school’s mission to deliver exceptional performance in the education of it’s students.
